What are missed customer requests worth?

An honest estimate starts with what you have actually counted: how many unique people got in touch, and how many of them got no answer or a late one. Everything after that is an assumption, and you fill that in yourself here.

Missed requests calculator

The numbers filled in are example values, not benchmarks. Replace them with your own figures from the audit and your own assumptions. Nothing is stored or sent.

per week

People with a question, not the number of call attempts or messages.

per week

Count each person once. Do you only know the number of missed calls? Then you are probably counting too high: one person often calls more than once.

%

No spam, no wrong numbers, something you can deliver.

%

Your own estimate. If in doubt, use a low value.

Revenue, not profit.

%

What is left after purchasing or materials, as a percentage of revenue.

Unanswered or late requests (measured)
8 per week
Possibly recoverable requests (assumption)
4 per week
Hypothetical extra customers
1 per week
Hypothetical gross revenue
SRD 800 per week · SRD 3,467 per month
Your response rate (answered ÷ unique)
80%
How this was calculated
  1. Possibly recoverable = unanswered × share of real opportunities = 8 × 50% = 4
  2. Extra customers = possibly recoverable × share that becomes a customer = 4 × 25% = 1
  3. Gross revenue per week = extra customers × average value = 1 × SRD 800 = SRD 800
  4. Per month = per week × 52 ÷ 12 (≈ 4.33 weeks) = SRD 3,467

This is a scenario, not a prediction. The result is hypothetical revenue, not profit and not guaranteed extra revenue. People often call again or choose another moment, your capacity is limited, and what a faster response brings in differs per business. It also says nothing about what a particular product would bring you.

How to use the calculator well

  1. First count your unique requests for a week with the customer contact audit. Without your own count, any result is a guess.
  2. Fill in cautious values for the assumptions. If in doubt, also work out a lower scenario: your decision should not hang on one optimistic number.
  3. Read the result as “roughly what is at stake”, not as money you have lost. Some people call back later or drop by.
  4. Use it to choose where to improve first: a fixed callback time costs nothing and reduces the number of unanswered requests.

What the calculator does not do

The calculator predicts nothing and does not measure the results of any product. It multiplies your own count by your own assumptions and shows every step. Your input stays in your browser: nothing is stored or sent.

In lesson 1 of the free course you learn how to set up the count and how to keep facts and assumptions apart.

Customer contact audit (spreadsheet)

Record every customer request for seven days. The Summary tab automatically counts your unique requests, the response rate and the average response time.
